Fourie predicts a bright future for Masuku─── MORGAN PIEK 14:59 Thu, 03 Feb 2022
The Toyota Cheetahs coach, Hawies Fourie, predicts that the flyhalf, Siya Masuku, has a very bright future in South African rugby.
The 25-year-old pivot turned in a man-of-the-match performance last night when the Cheetahs beat the Bulls 38-25 at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
Masuku had a hand in all four of the tries the Cheetahs scored from open play last night and following his performance he has rugby lovers talking.
Fourie said the backline general is the complete package.
“Siya didn't have a lot of game time because he had Covid-19 so he couldn't train or play against the Griquas in the warm-up or first-round game. His last game was in the Toyota Challenge in November.
“He is a quality player and I predict that he will have a big future.
“He has got a cool head on his shoulders and he has all skillset that you want from a ten.
“He can attack, defend and he has a very good kicking game. Kicking from hand, two tries were scored - one from the grubber kicking to Rosko Specman and the other one was a cross-kick to Andisa Ntsila.
“He can see space and has got the skillset to execute and play what is in front of him.”
The Cheetah's next match in the Currie Cup is on 19 February against the Pumas in Nelspruit.
