The Peacock Blues managed to edge Province 22-20 at Tafel Lager Park for back-to-back wins at home in the competition.

The win also makes it three straight victories over the team from Cape Town in the competition.

Bergh told OFM Sport that their defense has been solid all season.

“I must say that I am very proud of the boys", said Bergh following their hard-fought win.

“They asked a lot of questions of us. For Western Province to come to Kimberley and only score two tries and the last one was with a yellow card in the last minute, I must say I'm very proud.

“We didn't play well, and if you are not playing well, your attack will not always function, but your defence can. I thought our defence was very good.

“It's now four games in the Currie Cup and we are yet to concede a four-try bonus point, so we are very happy with that.”

In the weekend’s other Currie Cup games, the Toyota Cheetahs beat the Pumas 28-17 in Nelspruit while the Sharks beat the Lions 43-31 in Johannesburg.
