Masuku hopeful to be ready for Province game─── MORGAN PIEK 14:56 Wed, 09 Mar 2022
The Toyota Cheetahs flyhalf, Siya Masuku, is confident that he will be ready for next week’s important Currie Cup game against Western Province in Bloemfontein.
The player who has been a revelation at the Cheetahs in recent times left the field early during the 66-14 victory against the Lions on Saturday.
The backline marshal felt the ill-effects of a late tackle in the match. He took a knock to the ribs in the tackle and also struggled with spasms in his back.
Masuku told OFM Sport the he is hopeful about playing next week.
“I'm actually a lot better now. I have a spasm on my back, but it's getting better.
“Hopefully I will be up for selection for next week’s game against Western Province.”
The other concern in the camp is that of the versatile Aidon Davis. Davis took a bit on his hip-pointer on Saturday. The Cheetahs coaching staff feel that it should take a week to heal and he should be available for selection.
The Cheetahs host Western Province next week Wednesday at the Toyota Stadium and this game kicks off at 17:45.
