Kolisi captains the Sharks, Notshe starts─── MORGAN PIEK 10:06 Thu, 10 Mar 2022
The Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi, will be taking charge of the Sharks on Friday evening when they tackle the Scarlets in Durban in their first home game against an overseas team in the United Rugby Championship.
Kolisi will captain the team in the absence of their regular skipper, Lukhanyo Am, who is in Japan on a short-term contract.
One of the three changes made to the Sharks team for the game is at the back of the scrum with Sikhumbuzo Notshe, earning his first start since recovering for a long-term knee injury.
Sharks coach, Sean Everitt, said it’s great to have the Springbok back.
“Phepsi Buthelezi and Notshe is a rotational switch. Notshe got 20 minutes off the bench in the last two games and he had that good start in the Currie Cup.
“We just feel that he needed a bit more time and Phepsi has been in the saddle for every game in the URC.
“So, you can see that as a rotational switch.
“It's just great to see Notshe getting a start and being back on the field after quite a horrendous injury.”
Tomorrow night’s game at the Shark Tank kicks off at 19:10.
