The Lions managed a 37-20 win over the Cardiff Blues in Johannesburg on Sunday for just their third win in the URC.

To date the Lions haven’t won again in the Currie Cup this season, and in their last out they were hammered 66-14 by the Toyota Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

The Lions coach for the URC, Ivan van Rooyen, told OFM Sport that some of this player could play in Kimberley tomorrow.

“Wednesday there is a Currie Cup game in Kimberley. It's also tough over there.

“The Griquas are a very proud team, especially when they are in good form.

“We kind of see it as three games in one week for some of our squad members.

There will probably be a couple of guys that played against the Cardiff Blues that will be playing on Wednesday and next week as well.

“Recovery detail and getting back to the process will be important this week because we've got multiple games.”

Wednesday afternoon’s match between the Griquas and Lions at Tafel Lager Park kicks off at 14:30.
