Olivier is a direct replacement for Aidon Davis who is heading to the Exeter Chiefs in England. While Davis is a loose-forward he has been playing at lock of late with Rynier Bernardo injured, and he has excelled in the position.

Oliver, who previously played for the Valke and now finished up Enisei-STM in Russia, told OFM Sport that he can't wait to start the new chapter in his career.

“I've been following the Currie Cup and the Cheetahs have been doing really well. Being undefeated so far and I hope that they continue with their winning streak.

“My family and I are very excited to head to Bloemfontein to join the Cheetah family.

“We can't wait to meet everyone and become a part of the Cheetah family.”

Olivier said that due to the war in the Ukraine, the flight restrictions has made it a lot harder to travel. Olivier and his family started traveling at 4am on Tuesday morning and only arrived at their hotel at 19:00 in the evening.

Olivier will start at the Cheetahs on 1 July.
