Province is currently second from the bottom of the log with just one win from seven games, while at the opposite end of the standings, the Cheetahs are unbeaten and in second.

The last times these two teams met, the Cheetahs beat the men in blue-and-white hoops 24-17 in Bloemfontein.

The Province assistant coach, Nazeem Adams, said they are happy with their current squad.

“I can tell you now that we are definitely not going to be having a lot of URC players coming down.

“We are not sure who will be available to be selected. There won't be many, if any.

“At this point, we are happy that we have continuity in selection.

“If there will be a few players coming down to the Currie Cup squad it will be an added bonus for us.”

Both Western Province and the Cheetahs will be naming their respective squads on Thursday. At this stage it will appear that Aidon Davis and Rosko Specman, will both be playing for the Cheetahs.

There is uncertainty over the availability of Frans Steyn as he was at the Springbok alignment camp in Durban until Thursday.

Kick-off at the Cape Town Stadium is at 16:45 on Friday.
