We can't keep our heads down for long - Kolisi | News Article
Siya Kolisi - Gallo

The Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi, said it’s far from panic stations in the camp following their defeat to the All Blacks on the weekend.

The All Blacks broke their three-match winless streak when they beat the Springboks 35-23 at Ellis Park on Saturday in round two of the Rugby Championship.

The All Blacks were able to put pressure on the Springboks, while at times the Boks let themselves down with a lack of execution.

Another injury to the Springbok backline early in the Test once again saw the World Champions under pressure on the bench because of the six-two split. This is something that the coach Jacques Nienaber will have to take along and have a hard think about before they tackle the Wallabies in Adelaide.

Kolisi said they will take confidence from their second-half performance.

“Of course, we would have loved to gain momentum but we can't keep our heads down for long because there're still four more games to go.

“But yes, we did miss an opportunity, but they played really well and they controlled the game.

“I thought that we fought back well in the second half but in one moment, we slipped up and fell asleep during a quick tap and that's what they can do.

“We'll see what squad is going to Australia next week and we have to focus on the Wallabies now.”

The Boks' next Test is on 27 August when they face the Wallabies at the Adelaide Oval.
