Boks delighted to have Arendse back─── MORGAN PIEK 13:57 Wed, 21 Sep 2022
The Springboks are delighted to have the versatile Kurt-Lee Arendse back for this week’s final and all-important Rugby Championship Test against Argentina in Durban.
Arendse was banned for four Tests following his red card after playing Beauden Barrett in the air during the 26-10 win over the All Blacks in Nelspruit.
The former Blitzbok has served out his suspension and has been named on the bench for the must-win Test.
Springbok coach, Jacques Nienaber, said Arendse provides them with options.
“Kurt-Lee has served his ban, otherwise he would have been a part of the team straight through the whole Rugby Championship. That being if he didn't get injured.
“It's nice for us to have him back. He is a quality player - he can give you cover at fullback and at wing.
“He's nice and versatile in terms of that.”
Saturday’s Test between the Springboks and Pumas at Kings’ Park kicks off at 17:05.
