A win for the Cheetahs sees them fit and ready for the EPCR next month. Securing a 43-30 win against the Griffons after losing 22-19 to the Sharks last week sets the team up well to take on their next challenge.

Leading the game 31-14 at half-time, they were off to a good start but with the Griffons fighting back hard in the second half, the Cheetahs needed to up their attack, which has been their focus leading up to their European tour.

Playing against the Sharks in wet weather last week prepared the Cheetahs for the European weather conditions, as well as put the team in a position to note what aspects of play needed their focus. Heading into yesterday’s game, their attack was a primary focus and overall, their two warm-up games gave the team what they needed in terms of preparation.

The Cheetahs are set to leave Bloemfontein on Monday, 5 December, for their first EPCR Challenge Cup match against Section Paloise in France on 10 December.
