Both the Springboks and Australia have picked somewhat new look teams for the season-opening Test.

The Springboks have come under criticism for disrespecting the Wallabies by not fielding their strongest possible team, and the first choice squad is already in New Zealand for next week’s game against the All Blacks.

Jones in his turn named four debutants in the Wallabies line-up with Tom Hooper starting on the blindside flank, while Zane Nonggorr, Richie Arnold and Carter Gordan will all make their debut off the bench.

The former Springbok assistant, Jones, said it will still be a very tough encounter on the Highveld and the Springboks will have the pride of South Africa behind them

“We're really only worried about ourselves,” said Jones.

“We're focused very much on ourselves. We're a new team that has come together and we want to play our style of rugby.

“We know whatever team runs out in Pretoria on Saturday is going to play with the pride of South Africa behind them.

“We need to meet that challenge.”

Saturday’s eagerly anticipated Test at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 17:05.
