The Boks are in a much tougher group for the World Cup along with the world number one’s, Ireland, as well as the confident Scotland and ever-physical Tonga.

While the Springboks will head to France as the defending champions, they this time are without the services of an experienced flyhalf.

Kolisi said it’s important for the Boks to focus on their strengths.

“There is no way that we can win if were play exactly the same as we did in 2019,” said Kolisi who is set to make his long-awaited return from injury.

“We have to vary our game, and you would have seen how the boys of played this year. Some of the plays that we've done, we had to change to make our opponents guess instead of playing like we have done previously.

“Other teams have studied and done a lot of work on us, so we've had to change the way that we play.”

Meanwhile, on Saturday at 16:05 the Springboks will face Wales in Cardiff in their penultimate warm-up game ahead of the World Cup.

Next week the Springboks will face the All Blacks at the Home of English Rugby, Twickenham, in what will be their last outing before beginning with their title defence in France.
