“I'm a part of a team with a very rich history which comes with a deep-rooted love for the game. This has kind of motivated me to work even harder for a spot in the team.”

The Griquas have named another interesting signing as they continue to build on their depth ahead of the upcoming SA Cup.

On Monday, the Peacock Blues confirmed the signing of the former Western Province centre, Bingo Ivanisevic.

Ivanisevic is a product of Bishops in Cape Town, while he also played rugby at Cardiff University in Wales. He is known for running hard with the ball, while he is also quite slippery customer in the contract and solid on the counterattack.

While the player is fairly unknown in professional rugby in South Africa, the coach, Pieter Bergh, is known for having a keen eye for talent and knows how to unearth gems.

Ivanisevic told OFM Sport that he looks forward to his time and the opportunity in Kimberley.

“I feel like playing in Kimberley is going to be a very fulfilling experience,” said Ivanisevic.

“I'm a part of a team with a very rich history which comes with a deep-rooted love for the game. This has kind of motivated me to work even harder for a spot in the team.

“Besides this, I'm looking forward to playing in front of the city's passionate fans and getting a good tan in the next few weeks.”

He is the second new signing in the past week following the contracting of the former Leopards and North-West University loose forward, Gustav Erlank.

The coach, Bergh, himself has just recently extended his stay at the Griquas by penning a three-year extension of his contract.
