The Toyota Cheetahs have received a major boost ahead of the SA Cup round two game against the Leopards in Potchefstroom on Saturday.

The team's inspirational captain, Victor Sekekete, is back from Wales and he is ready for action.

Sekekete spent the last few months in Swansea where he represented the Ospreys in the United Rugby Championship.

Sekekete is going to play, while Jeandré Rudolph could miss this week’s match, and Evardi Boshoff is still in the UK where he has extended his stay for a few more weeks.

Sekekete told OFM Sport what he missed the most about being at the Cheetahs.

“For me it's the fight - I don't think I've experienced a better fight than a Bloem fight,” said the Currie Cup-winning captain.

“You know what goes into putting on a Cheetahs jersey. You know what is going to come and you know what you are putting out on the field.

“That is something that you really appreciate and becomes very clear once you leave the team. You get to appreciate it each and every single time.”

The big second-rower added that another thing he missed over the past few months is a good old braai and that is a lot better than leek soup.

“Ooh, a braaivleisie, I missed that. It was torture. The meat is different and you can just taste it.”

The Cheetahs coach, Izak van der Westhuizen, will be naming his team for the trip to Potchefstroom on Thursday and it is expected that he will name his strongest possible side with an eye on next week’s EPCR Challenge Cup round of 16 clash against Clermont in France.

Saturday’s match at Olën Park kicks off at 15:00.
