Griquas ring the changes for the Bulldogs─── MORGAN PIEK 08:11 Wed, 03 Apr 2024
“It's good to have depth in our squad and we definitely didn't pick a side that says we're not taking this seriously.”
The Suzuki Griquas have rung the changes ahead of their SA Cup third round clash against the Border Bulldogs in Kimberly on Saturday.
The Peacock Blues have made a total of 14 changes to their team for the match, and with the depth that they have built it is a real luxury for the team.
The Griquas will go into the match unbeaten after convincing a 66-25 win against the Valke in Kempton Park last week and they still lead the standings.
Border in their turn are still without a win in their two previous games and they currently occupy the second last spot on the log.
The Griquas assistant coach, Franco van der Merwe, told OFM Sport that it’s a good game to build on their depth.
“Especially moving into this year, a big focus for us was getting squad depth, so we're very happy to rotate some of the players.
“But, also, it's good to have some of the guys like Derik Pretorius coming back from a head injury and played off the bench for us against the Valke, to have them coming back.
“It's good to have depth in our squad and we definitely didn't pick a side that says we're not taking this seriously.”
