The Bulls will have to make do without Kurt-Lee Arendse for Saturday’s United Rugby Championship semi-final against Leinster in Pretoria.

On the weekend Arendse fractured his cheekbone during the 30-23 quarter-final against Benetton in the capital city.

This is a blow for the Bulls as the Springbok flyer scored a try within seconds after kick-off on Saturday.

Arendse underwent surgery on Sunday morning to repair the damage.

The Bulls coach, Jake White, said they want to try to get Arendse fit for the Springboks internationals.

“They will put a plate in and try and get him back on the field as quickly as we can,” White said about the star outside-back.

“We want him ready for the Tests, every player wants to be in the Test squad.

“Credit must go to our medical staff, who found a doctor that will do the surgery the surgery on Sunday morning. It is great for players to know the medical staff put their interest first.

“That gives him a chance to be back when the international window starts.”

Saturday’s semi-final at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 16:00.
