Defender, Ruben Cloete, will reunite with his former mentor, Ernst Middendorp, at Bloemfontein Celtic after the local side has confirmed signing the left back from Maritzburg United.

"The club is very happy to have signed the player," Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco said.

The former Free Sate Stars and Orlando Pirates defender played a vital role in Maritzburg's recently-concluded season, featuring 25 times for the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.

Meanwhile, the Bloemfontein-based side has parted ways with the defensive duo of Johannes Motlhaping and Tsietsi Mahoa.

The duo left the club following the decision not to renew their stay.

Motlhaping left the club after nine years in the first team, having graduated from the club's development structures.

Former Supersport United’s player, Mahoa, arrived in 2010 and was useful, but has since fallen down the pecking order in this campaign.

"Yes it's true, Motlhaping and Mahoa have left and these are the only players so far that will not be part of the team next season," confirmed Konco.

Cloete is the second player the Team of Choice has lost, with skipper, Michael Morton, having already signed a pre-contract to join Matsatsantsa next season.
