Premier Soccer League side Bloemfontein Celtic are flying high following yet another league victory yesterday when they pipped Orlando Pirates by 1-0 in Bloemfontein.

Bongani Sam followed up on a Alfred Ndengami header to put Siwelele in the lead after only 17 minutes and despite their best efforts the Buccaneers could not pull back the deficite.

The win also puts Celtic in the virtual top spot on PSL the log with 9 points which is equal to that of Wits. The difference between the sides is that Wits have played 1 more game than Phunya Sele Sele.

The same positive news can unfortunately not be said for Free State Stars who suffered a 2-1 defeat to AmaZulu at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

Usuthu conceded the lead as early as the 4th minute when a misdirected back-pass from captain Mbongeni Gumede rolled past Moeneeb Josephs for a own goal.

The home team were left chasing the game for majority of the 90 minutes but managed to claim the 3 points thanks to 2 second half goals by Emiliano Tade and Mhlengi Cele respectively to end matters 2-1 in Umlazi.

Ea La Koto next face Cape Town City on Wednesday while Celtic travel to Kaizer Chiefs for their encounter on the same day.
