The Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, has hinted at fielding fresh players during Thursday’s Nedbank Cup quarter-final against Orlando Pirates.

The Brazilians played in a league game on Monday night when they beat Chippa United 2-1, and should they manage to eliminate the Buccaneers, they will face Tshakhuma FC on Sunday in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.

Mngqithi said that it’s important to be able to rotate his squad.

“We've got the team and we've got the depth.

“We're unfortunate to lose Lyle Lakay because of suspension, but Aubrey Modiba has raised his hand and we've still got Tebogo Langerman.

“We can always manoeuvre and find a way to make this thing better.

“I'm encouraged of seeing new players coming in to play at this same of the season, and that for me is a very big thing.”

Thursday’s quarter-final between Downs and the Sea Robbers at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 18:00.
