The defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, will tread lightly for Orlando Pirates when these two teams meet in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup on Thursday night.

While the Brazilians are the team to beat, they are well aware that the Buccaneers are winners of the last cup competition, when they beat Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 in the final of the MTN8.

The Sundowns co-head coach, Rulani Mokwena, warns that the Sea Robbers are dangerous on the attack.

“Orlando Pirates are a strong opponent. They're an extremely strong opponent, with very good players.

“They are players that offer good weapons.

“As I always put it, when you profile opponents you always do some sort of profiling, and of course “you see the characteristics of the side.

“They are a team that has very good speed and very good mobility, especially on the attack.”

Thursday night’s quarter-final at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 18:00.
