Nuno Espírito Santo takes over at Spurs─── MORGAN PIEK 08:54 Thu, 01 Jul 2021
The worst kept secret in English football is out after the announcement late last night that Nuno Espírito Santo is the new Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Santo arrives at Spurs following his successful four-year spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers where he guided the club from the Championship into the English Premiership.
The two consecutive seventh placed finishes is Wolves' highest league position in 41 years.
Santo made a big promise during his unveiling.
“It’s an enormous pleasure, an honour, a joy to be here.
“Obviously we had to start meetings with Fabio Paratici and the Board on Zoom, from a distance, but as soon as we started speaking to each other, we felt that we are in the same line, we are in the same mindset, so it went well.
“I’m happy and I’m looking forward to starting work. This is what it means. We don’t have any day to lose, we must start working immediately, the pre-season starts in a couple of days.”
Santo's fixture game in charge will be on 4 August at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.
