On Saturday, Manchester United thumped Leeds 5-1, Leicester City beat Wolves 1-0 and Everton beat Southampton 1-0.

Watford beat Aston Villa 3-2, Brighton beat Burnley 2-1 while Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 3-0 and Liverpool claimed a 3-0 win over Norwich City.

In yesterday's games, West Ham earned a 4-2 win over Newcastle and Tottenham beat the defending champions 1-0.

New Spurs boss, Nuno Espírito Santo, says the fans helped his team to the win.

“There's no perfection, we still have a long way to go to be perfect and probably we will never achieve it, but I'm really proud of the way the players worked and really thankful for the support of the fans.

“It was huge the way they helped the team until the final minute, helping the boys, and we are very thankful for it.

Round two will kick off on Saturday with Liverpool at home to Burnley.
