The Bafana Bafana striker, Victor Letsoalo, scored the winner in the 51st minute.

The coach, John Maduka, felt that they were in control of the game, despite a slight dip towards the end of the first half.

“We are very happy to get three points as it was not an easy game.

“If you look at the game, we started very well. We took the game to them because they defend well as a team.

“We used more of our width as well. Maybe in the first half our decision-making was not right, especially in the final third.

“Other than that, I think we were in control of the game.”

In Sunday’s other game, the champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, beat Kaizer Chiefs 2-0.

On Saturday Maritzburg United beat Baroka FC 1-0, Sekhukhune United and Stellies drew 1-1, Orlando Pirates beat Swallows 1-0 and TS Galaxy held Golden Arrows to a 2-2 draw.

On Tuesday night, AmaZulu host SuperSport United, while on Wednesday, Cape Town City are at home to Marumo Gallants.
