González joins the Citizens as a direct replacement for Fagrie Lakay, who in turn joins Egyptian side Pyramids FC.

Coach of the Citizens, Eric Tinkler, welcomed the signing of the South American player, who has experience of playing in Africa.

“Darwin has pace and creativity, very similar to what Ralani gave us, but he also has the ability to score goals.

“He can play either out wide or as a striker, so he gives us a lot of options in attack.

“He’s a fantastic acquisition. He’s someone who has played in Africa before with Etoile in Tunisia so he has CAF experience, and we’re happy to have him at our club.”

He is the second Venezuelan to join the PSL during the now closes January transfer window after Juan Ortiz linked up with Stellenbosch FC.
