Liverpool into Champions League final─── MORGAN PIEK 10:15 Wed, 04 May 2022

Liverpool are through to the final of the UEFA Champions League for the third time in five years after beating Villarreal of Spain on Tuesday night.
The Reds came back from 2-0 down at half-time in a game of two halves to beat Villarreal 3-2 and advance on a 5-2 aggregate.
Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mané all scored for the Reds to book their tickets to the final in Paris.
Speaking of their win, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said the only way to win the Champions League is by qualifying for the final.
“There’s only one chance to win a final and that is to qualify for a final. That’s what we did so far, we played each game available.
“We went through all competitions until the last game, three of these competitions are not finished yet.
“I know all the stories around and stuff like this and supporters from other clubs, first half today a lot of people might have been happy that we got a knock, but it’s really difficult to reach three finals – that’s probably the reason why nobody did it so far.
“But we made that happen and when the specific finals show up in our schedule, we will make sure that we are ready for it. But we play incredibly strong teams in these finals so we will see.
“We will give it a go, definitely, but that it’s difficult I could have told you without knowing that nobody did it so far because it is really tough.”
On Wednesday at 21:00 the 13-time champions, Real Madrid, will host Manchester City at the Bernabau. The Citizens lead this semi-final 4-3 after a win at the Etihad Stadium last week.
Should the English champions beat Los Blancos and qualify for the final, it will be the second time in two years that an all-English final will be contested.
Last year Chelsea beat City 1-0 in the final played in Porto, Portugal.
