Mohamed Salah dazzles as he secures Liverpool a win vs. Manchester City─── 00:27 Mon, 17 Oct 2022
In this weekend’s biggest English Premier League game, Liverpool secured a win against Manchester City on Sunday 16 October 2022, at Anfield - breaking Manchester’s unbeaten Premier League season winning streak.
Mo Salah carried the team to victory after a 76th minute goal, making the final score 1-0 to Liverpool.
The win against Man City secured Jurgen Klopp’s side 3 points on the log, a third win for the league campaign, as well as managed to stall City’s title charge with Arsenal still in the lead at the top of the log. Pep Guardiola’s side currently stands in 2nd with a four point deficit to the log leaders.
City’s efforts were present but sadly unsuccessful, considering their loss as well as an earlier goal in the game by Phil Foden being ruled out for a foul by Erling Haaland on Fabinho leading up to the goal.
Mo Salah’s victory-securing goal came after Liverpool goalkeeper, Allison, charged the ball forward, isolating him for a clear shot at goal. Getting past Ederson seamlessly saw Liverpool victorious in their shot at goal in a dazzling fashion.
Breaking Manchester City's winning streak, Liverpool now gives City a lot of work to get to the top of the log. If anything, this win brings hope for Liverpool's title aspirations.
Klopp was sent off, post goal, with a red card when he reprimanded the assistant referee after what appeared to be Salah being hauled back by Bernado Silva, to which he stated the following; "The red card is my fault, I went over the top at that moment."
The English Premiership action is set to continue on Tuesday, the 18th of October, with Brighton against Forest at 20:30 and Crystal Palace against the Wolves at 21:15.
