The 30-year-old limped off the park during last week's Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs at Soccer City and now it appears that he is in doubt for tomorrow's final against AmaZulu.

The Buccaneers indicated that there several injured players, including Maela and a late call will be made on his availability.

The assistant coach, Mandla Ncikazi, confirmed that they are still waiting for a call from the medial team.

“There are a few players who are touch and go and they are still on the medical table,” said Ncikazi.

“Maela is one of them, so based on what happened yesterday and today with the medical team, we are not sure.

“Maybe the call will be made on his health. If he's good, he will lead the team. If he is no, some other players will be there to take his position.

“That’s the team we are.”

Saturday night's final at the Moses Mabidha Stadium kicks off at 18:00.
