Bafana expect to be tested by Mozambique─── MORGAN PIEK 14:04 Thu, 17 Nov 2022
The national football team, Bafana Bafana, will be in action again on Thursday evening when they face Mozambique in Nelspruit.
The match will be the first of two international friendlies South Africa will be playing this week with the team also going head-to-head with Angola on Sunday.
For Bafana the two matches are extremely important and it forms part of their preparations ahead of their home and away Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia next year.
The Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, said they will be tested by the Mambas and Sable antelopes.
“We needed two good opponents, who are not at the top of Africa, but two that are good, said the 70-year-old Belgian coach.
“I've seen Angola playing and I saw Mozambique who surprised me. Honestly, it's not a bad team at all.
“I will be a good test for us, and that is important. It's important that sometimes you play against tough opponents.”
Thursday night’s match at the Mbombela Stadium kicks off at 20:30.
