It’s all or nothing for Argentina as they prepare for their Group C clash against Mexico this evening, 26 November. In order to salvage their chances of furthering their World Cup campaign Argentina will have to secure a win against Mexico.

Earlier this week, the 51st-ranked Saudi Arabia stunned by pulling one of the biggest upsets in FIFA World Cup history when they beat Argentina 2-1 at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar.

After their loss, the Argentine forward, Lautaro Martinez, stated: “It was difficult but we're a united group, a strong group that knows what we want, we know about our opponents, we've already overcome many things."

Leading up to their game against Mexico, he also stated that, as a side, they’re preparing well for what is a “crunch FIFA World Cup” match for them.

A win tonight is crucial in ensuring the Argentines get to continue their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign by making it to the Round of 16. Without a win the team will fall out and lose their chance at pursuing the World Champion’s title.

Argentine coach, Lionel Scaloni, stated “We need to remain calm, as this is still a football game. It’s very important, especially for Argentina, it’s still a game. We have to remember that what brought us here is our way of playing and we have to continue that.”

The team will need to bring their ‘A’ game tonight in order to advance to the next stage.

Argentina will take on Mexico at 21:00 on 26 November at the Lusail Stadium.
