In only three of the eight games Premier Soccer League teams will square off against each other in the next round.

One of the big round of 16 games on the cards in the KwaZulu-Natal derby between Golden Arrows and Royal AM. Then the Bloemfontein-linked Marumo Gallants will be up against the reigning Nedbank Cup and PSL champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, while TS Galaxy will face Stellenbosch FC.

The Soweto giants avoid facing each other in the round of 16 with Orlando Pirates going up against Venda FA, while their big rivals, Kaizer Chiefs will face the NDF team, Casric Stars (formerly Free State Stars).

While the big guns largely avoid facing each other in the next round, the quarter-finals could prove for a thrilling affair and it could be made even more interesting if one or two of the lower division teams pull off an upset during the round of 16.

The Premier Soccer League will confirm the venues and dates of the round of 16 in due course.
