The national side will face the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalists in a match that is a mere formality as both teams have already qualified for next year’s AFCON in Ivory Coast.

This has afforded Broos the opportunity to name the teenager, Thapelo Maseko, in his squad. Recently the 19-year-old was nominated for the PSL’s Young Player of the Year award.

While there are no major surprises, the other notable inclusions in the squad is that of Ricardo Goss and Bathusi Aubaas.

Broos believes that it shouldn’t be necessary to motivate the players ahead of the match against the team that did so well during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“I won’t be pleased if I have to motivate the players to play against Morocco,” said Broos.

“It will be a problem if the players are not motivated to play a team like Morocco. If they aren’t, I think it’s better you go home and don’t come to Bafana to play that game.

“This is why you become a professional – to play these games. It’s a big game and if you and the team get a positive result, it’s also good for you as a player.

“You must know a lot of people watch these games. It’s interesting to see Morocco, but also to see what the guys of Bafana can do. That must be enough to motivate the players to play in this game.”

Bafana will begin with their final preparations on Sunday when they go into camp.

Bafana will face the Atlas Lions next week Saturday with this match at Soccer City kicking off at 17:00.
