Bloemfontein - Tuberculosis remains the number one killer in South Africa.
Deputy President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, and Minister of Health, Aaron Motsoaledi, recently launched the National Strategic Plan (NSP) on HIV, TB and STI’s in Bloemfontein to conclude TB Awareness month.
Ramaphosa said many South Africans die of these diseases because they are not cared for by the health care system.
He was speaking at the launch of the National Strategic Health Plan in Bloemfontein.
The objectives of the plan are to intensify the fight against TB, HIV and STIs.
Ramaphosa said the programme received approval from at least three former African presidents who are champions in the fight against the diseases in their own rights.
