The former world number one, Tiger Woods, is in serious condition in hospital after rolling his car in Los Angeles, California, last night.
The 15-time major champion was extracted from the wreck by the emergency crews with the use of the Jaws of Life from where he was transported to the hospital.
It is believed that he underwent emergency surgery and is now in a serious but stable condition.
His agent, Mark Steinberg, confirmed that he suffered multiple leg injuries.
“Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.”
At this stage, it is still unclear if the 45-year-old will be able to compete in the 2021 Masters at Augusta in Georgia, which is set to be played from 5 April.
Woods has won the Masters on five occasions.
