The 24-year-old South African goes into the last eight tie with his confidence riding high after he eliminated the world number three and 20-time Grand Slam champion, Rafael Nadal, with a 6-4, 1-6 and 6-4 win during the third round.

The former US Open finalist, Nishikori, in his turn beat the South African-born Cam Norrie to advance.

Harris leads the head-to-head battle against Nishikori 1-0 after he beat him earlier in the year in the quarter-finals the Dubai Duty Free Championship.

Nishikori conceded that Harris is not his favourite opponent.

"I lost to Lloyd in Dubai this year, so not my favourite opponent. But we'll see."

This match gets underway on Saturday morning at 1am (SA Time).
