It will be the furthest that Harris has advanced in any Grand Slam after he made fairly simple work of beating the 7th seeded Denis Shapovalov of Canada 6-4, 6-4 and 6-4.

Should Harris manage to beat the 22nd seeded American later today, the 24-year-old will face the winner between Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals, while a possible semi-final against Novak Djokovic is on the cards.

Harris said that he is feeling confident ahead of the tie against the player that knocked him out of the Rogers Cup in August, in what was their only meeting to date.

“The fourth round is obviously a major accomplishment for me. It’s my first one ever, and I'm looking forward to the next one. I can't wait to be back.

“Everything has been coming together this season. I feel confident in my game and I want to keep the momentum going.”

This game at the Louis Armstrong Stadium is set to get underway at 19:00.
