The top seeds have received favourable draws for Wimbledon in London. The draw for the 2022 grass-court Grand Slam was done at the All England Lawn Tennis Club on Friday morning.

The number one seed and defending champion, Novak Djokovic, will play against Soonwoo Kwon of Korea in the first round of Wimbledon.

In the second half of the men's singles draw, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, Rafael Nadal, will go up against the world number 42, Francisco Cerundolo, of Argentina.

In the women's singles, the world number one, Iga Swiatek of Poland, will take on the 25-year-old qualifier of Croatia, Jana Fett.

Meanwhile, the 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams of the USA who received a wildcard entry will face off against the 113th ranked Harmony Tan of France. Following a year away from the game due to injury Williams has plummeted all the way down to 1208th in the world rankings.

Last year, Williams was forced to withdraw from Wimbledon after sustaining an injury due to fall in the first round at SW19.

Wimbledon will get underway on Monday.
