The defending men's singles champion, Novak Djokovic, survived a big scare on day one at the grass-court Grand Slam.
The former world number one was made to work his opening round win over Kwon Soon-woo of South Korea.
Djokovic beat Soon-woo 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 and 6-4 under the roof on Centre Court.
The win was the six-time champion's 80th singles win at SW19.
Djokovic became the first men's or women's singles player to win 80 matches at all four Grand Slams.
Speaking after his win, the Serbian player said that he was happy with his first round win.
“It was nice to be back,” said Djokovic.
“I think it was a good win against a player who is very talented. He has a lot of quality from both the forehand and backhand corner.
“I did not start or play at my best, but I think when I needed to find the right shots, I did. I think my serve got me out of trouble in some decisive moments. I know I can do better.”
Djokovic will face Thanasi Kokkinakis of Australia in round two.
