The year's first Grand Slam will also see the return of South Africa's leading men's singles player, Harris, to major international tennis following a long injury layoff.

The last time Harris played in a Grand Slam or on the ATP Tour was during last year's French Open, when he lost in straight sets in the first round to Richard Gasquet of France.

Harris has good preparation for the year’s first Grand Slam after he reached the final of the Challenger Nonthaburi II tournament in Thailand. Harris did, however, lose this match 7-6 and 6-3 to Arthur Cazaux of France on Saturday.

On Monday morning at 8:50, Harris will play in the first round of the Australian Open when he faces the 17th seeded Lorenzo Musetti of Italy.
