On Wednesday the South African and his doubles partner, Yuki Bhambri, of India beat Marcel Granollers of Spain and Horacio Zeballos of Argentina, who were the fourth seeds, 6-4 and 6-4 in the quarter-finals.

On Thursday afternoon Harris and Bhambri will face the top seeds Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico and Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France in the semi-finals.

First though, Harris will be in action in the quarter-finals of the singles when he comes up against Pavel Kotov of Russia.

This match is scheduled to start at 12:00 on Thursday afternoon. His doubles semi-final is scheduled to start at 15:00.

By reaching the quarter-finals is the first time since 2021 that Harris has made it into the last eight on an ATP event. A string of injury setbacks has seen the Dubai-based South African tumble down the ATP rankings from 35th in the world to 298th.

This good run of form over the past week will give South Africa’s leading men’s singles player a lot of confidence going into Wimbledon which starts on Monday in London.
