Following an entire day's delay, Harris faced the 14th ranked American Ben Shelton.

Harris’ service game was a lot better than in the first round against the 19-year-old Alex Michelsen, but despite a staggering 31 aces, the could not beat the 14th seeded America.

The match went the distance with a second five-set marathon for each of the players. Harris took the first and third sets, while the five and final set went to a 10-point tiebreaker.

Harris received some medical attention a few times during the game, but ultimately the 21-year-old American beat the South African 4-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 and 7-6 to reach the third round for the first time.

Meanwhile, the 24-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic, is into the third round. The 7-time champion at the All England Lawn Tennis Club was made to work hard for his 6-3, 6-4, 5-7 and 7-5 win against Jacob Fearnley of Britain.

The French great, Gael Monfils, in turn beat the two-time Australian Open champion, Stan 'the Stanimal' Wawrinka 7-6, 4-6 and 7-6.

The South African-born Cam Norrie beat hisEnglish compatriot, Jack Draper, 7-6, 6-4 and 7-6, while the fourth seeded Alexander Zverev breezed into the third round with a 6-2, 6-1 and 6-4 win against Marcos Giron of the USA.
