Celebrated South African actor Gordon Mulholland has died. Eyewitness News reports that the performer had been ill for some time and passed away last night. Mulholland was one of the most celebrated performers on the South African entertainment scene. He worked his way into the business through bit parts on British feature films, including a role in Disney’s live-action version of Treasure Island. Mulholland moved to South Africa in 1967 and had a successful career in theatre, radio - where he appeared in countless Springbok Radio Productions - film and TV, where he starred in the popular show The Villagers. The last film he starred in was Traitor’s Heart in 1999 starring Clive Scott and Gavin Hood.
