Human rights exist to protect people from government abuse and neglect. Rights limit what a state can do and impose obligations for how a state must act, said Kenneth Roth from Human Right Watch, international group monitoring violations.
Many countries in the world are still working on respecting their human rights obligations. Some countries are still far behind, while a few are 100% complying with the international standards of human rights.
According to the HRW South Africa has been Africa's leader on human rights and justice until the process was started to withdraw from the ICC. Look at brief report on some of the human rights issues present in separate countries
