The Department of Water and Sanitation will host Women in Business Construction Workshop on Monday, 19 August 2019 at Lesley Monnanyane Hall in Bloemfontein.
The workshop will be held under the theme, “25 Year of Democracy: Growing South Africa together for Women’s Emancipation”
Empowerment and involvement of women in integrated water resource management issues is central to ensure effective, efficient and equitable management of scarce water resources. Women as care givers and can assist the Department to convey water use efficiency messages across the communities.
During this month, the department of Water and Sanitation will also hold other information sharing session specifically for women in farming. The purpose is to share information on water rights and application for water use licenses. Visit www.dws.gov.za.
The department will also be visiting high schools to encourage girls in particular to study maths and science subjects so that they can pursue careers in the water sector. Young female professionals in the department will be sharing their experiences, and on how they were able to achieve qualifications in water and also give advice on the bursaries that are available in the department.
