The Nashua Invitational Golf Day returns to Bloemfontein Golf Club on 13 March 2025, once again raising funds in support of Engo, a non-profit welfare organization serving communities across the Free State. Now firmly established on the local golfing calendar as an unmissable event, this year’s four-ball and sponsorship opportunities sold out within the first month—setting the stage for another exceptional day of golf and giving back.
OFM is a proud media partner and sponsor of the event. Be sure to visit OFM’s water point to make a donation to Engo. The day concludes with an evening auction, where various items will be up for bidding to benefit Engo, such as: Apple products, Cheslin Colbe rugby items, signed Springbok leather rugby balls, signed wine bottles, a Rassie Erasmus original Waterboy outfit, an OFM Halfway House Hotspot package, and a Middelwater hunt.
Over the past five years (excluding the COVID-19 period), Nashua Bloemfontein has contributed nearly R1.5 million through various initiatives, significantly supporting Engo’s vital work. These funds have enabled:
- Enhanced security measures at Skemervreugde Aged Care Centre in Paul Roux, including electric fencing and additional safety features.
- The purchase of a generator for Skemervreugde Aged Care Centre.
- Improved safety for social workers when rescuing children from dangerous situations.
- Psychological support and counseling for social workers and children during traumatic incidents.
- COVID-19 relief for elderly residents at Kroonstad Aged Care Centre.
- Food parcels for Child and Youth Care Centre children returning home over the festive season.
- Medical assistance for children with severe injuries and conditions.
- Therapy for four children (ages 6–12) from traumatic backgrounds.
- The creation of the Omgie Playground in Bloemfontein – a safe space for children visiting their parents or receiving counseling from Engo.
- New beds and mattresses for Tsepang Child and Youth Care Centre in Bloemfontein.
- Barista training for 18 Engo children finishing school next year, equipping them with employable skills.
Engo is deeply grateful for every contribution that helps create a better, more hopeful future for those in need. To every donor, sponsor, and volunteer walking this journey with them, thank you.
