The University of the Free State proudly presents the return of its highly anticipated High School Choir Showcase after the resounding success of the inaugural event in 2025. Taking place on 19 May 2026 at the Odeion on the university’s Bloemfontein Campus, this special evening promises to celebrate choral excellence, youthful talent, and the spirit of musical collaboration across the Free State and Northern Cape. The annual showcase recognises the remarkable musical quality, discipline, and dedication demonstrated by high school choirs in the region. By bringing together some of the finest school ensembles, the event highlights and strengthens South Africa’s vibrant and growing choral tradition. Audiences can look forward to an inspiring and diverse programme featuring performances by the UFS Bloemfontein Campus Choir, Oranje Meisiekoor, Eunice Vitae Cantamus Choir, Cantus Veritatis – Brebner High School Choir, Juvenes Cantantes – Hoërskool Sentraal, St Michael’s School for Girls Chapel Choir, St Patrick’s CBC High School Girls’ Choir from Kimberley, and St Andrews Chapel Choir. This year’s showcase is especially significant as the UFS Bloemfontein Campus Choir celebrates 60 years of musical excellence, fellowship, and song.
