Young audiences ten years and older can look forward to "Grimm and Growl", a spooky theatre production for young audiences at the University of the Free State. Rose and Violet are excited when their parents move into a mysterious old house at the edge of a shadowy forest. The house is full of creaky floors, hidden corners, and curious secrets – but the sisters soon discover that the forest has secrets of its own. Deep among the trees, they meet a strange girl who seems nervous and afraid. She knows things about the old house that she shouldn’t, and she keeps whispering about two mysterious figures called “Grimm” and “Growl.” Who is the girl? Why is she hiding in the forest? And are Grimm and Growl really as frightening as she believes? As Rose and Violet follow a trail of clues, they uncover a spooky mystery filled with friendship, courage, and a little bit of forest magic. The shows are on 15 October at 11:00, on 16 October at 11:00 and 18:00, and on 17 October 2026 at 11:00. Book your tickets on Webtickets, or buy them at the door of the Scaena Theatre.
