Warm, down-to-earth as can be, funny and easy to call your bestie, Yvette Johnson has been a professional international voice artist for over 25 years, lending her vocal chords, sense of humour and acting ability to not only radio and major international brands but also digital games, corporate multimedia, movies, audiobooks, and international telenovelas.
Yvette started her entertainment career in Bloemfontein at age 14 as a singer/performer and DJ for weddings and functions. Born in the Rose City, raised and schooled there and in KZN, and later moved to Gauteng and worked in Johannesburg in the radio and voice-over industry for hundreds of radio and advertising brands. Yvette loves travel and food and is no stranger to making changes and uprooting or resettling to take on new challenges.
Today, she is best known as the afternoon news anchor, the voice of the Agri Hour, weekday mornings, as well as the Saturday Siësta show host on OFM, where her voice has become a familiar and trusted presence. Whether delivering the day’s headlines or curating a weekend show, she brings warmth, clarity, and authenticity to every broadcast—qualities that listeners instinctively respond to.
Her experience extends beyond radio into television, where she has worked as a TV presenter for Afrikaans and English music shows like MK89 and Project Fame. She values clarity, structure, and getting things done right the first time.
Beyond her professional life, Yvette is deeply committed to personal growth. Her interest in fitness and bodybuilding reflects her disciplined mindset. An avid cook, she has had a variety of culinary training as well. She values lasting relationships, authentic connections, meaningful communication, bringing stories to life with sound, and showing care through food.
