Born and raised in Thaba Nchu, east of Bloemfontein, his radio journey already began back in high school. As small-town life mostly only provided entertainment in the form of books and radio, Lebogang immediately grasped the opportunity when a local community radio station opened in Botshabelo. It was then he decided that he would one day make radio his career and enrolled for Media Studies at the University of the Free State (UFS) after matric.
During his time at UFS, he joined KovsieFM and headed to Lesedi FM as an intern after completing his studies.
In 2012, Lebogang joined OFM as a producer and has since occupied various positions over the years.
His favourite thing about radio is that it gives one the ability to paint a picture using words. Besides his talent for doing exactly that, Lebogang’s enthusiasm for life and positive energy also resonates throughout his work.
This proud father, who celebrates his birthday on April 5th, is married to his best friend, Thabisa. Some of his passions include entrepreneurship, cycling and running. He hopes to one day complete the Comrades Marathon and Absa Epic.
When he is not pushing buttons, directing calls, editing audio and making arrangements for the breakfast show, you can find him relaxing with a book or inspirational video. On weekends, he prefers spending time with family and friends enjoying a special meal, which is usually a wood-fired braai or potjie! And save some space for dessert. Lebo admits he has a very sweet tooth and will even have pudding for breakfast!
Laid back, but definitely not lazy, Lebogang Kotsi takes inspiration from his favourite quote: "A bend in the road is not the end of the road... unless you fail to make the turn” (Unknown).
