Courtenay Oliphant was born and raised in the Diamond City, Kimberley. He attended the University of the Free State, where he completed his undergraduate degree in Communication Science.
Courtenay’s radio career started in 2015 at KovsieFM as a newsreader. He eventually anchored the current affairs show. After completing his studies, Courtenay went back home and started working at the community radio station, RTS FM.
At RTS FM, he was the presenter of the NXTLevel Drive, the Saturday morning show, and the Red Hot Button debate.
After Courtenay’s stint back home, he moved to Johannesburg to become a 5FM presenter on the graveyard shift with Zanele Potelwa.
In 2020, Courtenay was presented with the opportunity to be a co-host on OFM Talk.
Courtenay’s favourite thing about radio is being able to form a connection with at least one listener. “To know that I have been welcomed into their space to keep them company means a great deal to me.”
During his downtime, Courtenay centers himself through meditation and yoga. He also enjoys listening to music, gaming, and spending time with friends and family.
