The situation in Kimberley remains tense this morning, as residents in Galeshewe continue with service delivery protests.

Sol Plaatje municipal spokesperson, Sello Matsie, told OFM News some of the roads that were barricaded by burning tyres and other objects last night, have been reopened - and at his stage schools and businesses are operating as usual...

Police spokesperson, Mashay Gamaldien, confirmed to OFM News that there is a great police visibility throughout the greater Kimberley. She went on to say that the protests are quiet this morning. Residents met last night and vowed to bring the city to a standstill until the executive mayor, Mangaliso Matika, steps down. No arrests were made.
